What does a second chance mean to me? A second chance to me is the chance to live a clean and sober life with the family I never knew I had because I was too high to realize what was in front of me. To thrive, (not just survive) and be a productive member of society and work for the things I want to have for me and my family vs doing all of the wrong things that take me away from my family. To spend time with my beautiful wife, my amazing kids n the rest of my family doing things that normal people get to do and not do through a glass wearing handcuffs. To love live and laugh and say that I made it! To be able to say I overcame my struggle and learned from my mistakes and just be a better man than the one I was yesterday. To know how to turn my lessons into blessings and know that every day we have a second chance to get it right…. I’ve been in and out of prison my daughter’s whole life and as it is now I won’t be released until she’s an adult. I begged for help after getting out of prison the last time. I tried to get help to get and stay sober and was repeatedly turned down my the people who are supposed to be there to help. 7 months later I was arrested and was sentenced 15-19 years.
