What a second chance means to me.

A second chance to me means redemption. After that I have paid my debt to society, I believe that I have another chance to live a full life for Christ with a new purpose and hope for a better future. Every day I live with regret and sadness for the pain and hurt I caused the families of me and my victims, but a second chance means I have the chance to repay and give back to people that I’ve hurt by living a life of service to the community.

I have wasted many talents God blessed me with and would use those talents to uplift mankind if given a second chance at life. I was 20 years old when I was put into the system and sentence to life but if given a second chance, I could make the most of the life I have left. There are no words that can describe the way I feel about the wrong I’ve done but I can use my words to spread a message of love and redemption if I’m allowed a second chance to do so.

They say you only get one life, and I agree but to me a second chance means a second life. A new life with a new purpose a new mind a renewed heart and a new vision.

Thank you to Behind the Walls Talk for the opportunity to openly express myself and shining a light behind these walls to help people like me who hope to one day be blessed to receive a second chance.
