Behind the Walls Talk

You know, time after time people say that they have changed. That the have grown up to be a man. But their actions don’t show the words that were spoken. I’m going to do the opposite. I’m going to let who I am show through my wats and actions, my schoolwork, and my work ethics. I was 20 years old when I got locked up. Two months from my 21^st birthday. Was looked at as a young, dumb, and violent person. Here it is twenty-five years later and most that I encounter wonder why the hell am I here. Not because of the time that I have already done. They wonder because of who the person that stands in front of them is not who he was. I am a grown man now that’s walking around with LWOP.

Life Without Parole, life without a future, or life without hope, I can go on with these little sayings forever. But contrary to what people are thinking or saying about Lifer’s in here, we really are not the ones in here causing all the trouble, there maybe a few of the sixteen plus hundred “LWOP” persons in here with the drama. But it is only because they have lost hope for a free tomorrow. The majority of Lifer’s might have been in a little trouble in the beginning, I know I was. I believe I have 13 infractions on my record. Only one violent charge for fighting. But there are years of holding down a job.

Even if there is no tomorrow. I still must live my life. Where I have hope that sooner or later that change is on the way, a lot of others have truly given up. Just another lesson for me to learn I guess, of what not to do. NERVER GIVE UP!
