Sickness in the facilities
I am housed at Scotland Correctional in Laurinburg, NC on medium custody. Ms. Bass (unit manager) and Mr. Locklear (assistant unit manager) are being very adamant about taking all the cleaning supplies out of the block, when there are eighty four prisoners being held inside one dorm. It is so filthy that it resembles a prison you may see in a third world country. The flu is going around in here especially with it being so nasty and they do not care at all for the safety and well-being of the ones they are suppose to serve and protect. They are not being helpful or supportive to the concerns of the individuals. Last night it came to a stand off for the supplies. Sgt. Anderson came to take the supplies out of the block “what type of man hides cleaning supplies”, trying to provoke reactions along with his disrespectful officer Graham. Guys feel defeated with disappointment because we are human beings just as they are and you know that there is sickness in the dorm, but you come in to take the one thing that we can combat the sickness with away from us. If that is not cruel and usual, I don’t know what is. Ladies and gentlemen this is what’s going on right now as this post is being posted. In the inmate handbook to avoid a Class D write-up you have to keep you and your area clean. How is this possible when they take away the items that we need to use? (D12) Fail to keep living quarters in a clean and/or proper condition;
(D13) Fail to observe basic standards of personal hygiene in bathing and grooming;
A phone call or email with the concerns you have for human life will be gladly appreciated and maybe life saving! Thank you for you support in a dire situation.
