Yesterday one of my brothers gave me information about health insurance, and an email address. We emailed Mr. Aaron Parks asking if he would inform us on what type of services he offers. Little did we know, he is the founder of Parks Insurance. He has been in business since 2019 helping those who are transiting home and their families, by offering them help with receiving health insurance. Unfortunately, the information getting to us has not been an easy one. I believe this is where we can come in and help aid and assist with bridging the gap as well as getting us something that is much needed. Being incarcerated we do not have the best health care as it is. Coming home and having access to better doctors under the Affordable Health Care Act is a great necessity for us. Parks Insurance offers a program called the G.I.F.T. (Giving Insurance Freely for Transition) at no cost to men and women who have just came home. There is also a section called Health Care for all. You might not qualify for zero cost but a lower cost insurance with this program. Aaron sent a few YouTube videos, at the end of one of the videos it said that there is a very high number of people who die from the lack of health insurance in America. That statement led me to google to see what number in approximation that it is, and it is high 45,000. So, we want to do our part, especially with the prison system not caring about this at all. When I was at Southern Correctional, there was a conversation going on between a nurse and a man getting ready to go home. Mind you he is diabetic, so he was getting his last bottle of insulin to go home with. The gentleman asked the nurse where I go for more, how do I go about getting more medicine. Her response was very alarming and cold, she said didn’t know that it is on him now. Now that we have proper resources and the contact to help to bring this number down is fantastic. My fiancé is now a referral agent with Parks Insurance. At the end of the message will be links, phone number, YouTube videos, and other information. Feel free to contact her.
